Fans of 13 Reasons Why have been left baffled after the popular Netflix show failed to receive any Emmy nominations this year in spite of being the most tweeted about show of 2017 so far.

The story of Hannah Baker, a teenager who dies by suicide and leaves behind a series of tapes documenting what led to her decision, has come under fire for its portrayal of depression, sexual assault, and suicide - with the programme retrospectivelyadding further warnings to viewersin the wake of thebacklash.

Even more surprisingly, newcomers Katherine Langford (Hannah Baker) andDylan Minnette (Clay Jensen) were also snubbed from the gong list, with none of the supporting cast - including parents Kate Walsh and Brian D’Arcy James -making the cut for nominations either.

This all comes as Netflix original series Stranger Things received a whopping 18 nominations at the awards ceremony, and followsreports that 13 Reasons was - in the words of fans - "robbed" all overagain in the shortlist forthe 2017 Teen Choice Awards.
