13 Reasons Why Didn't Get Any Emmy Nominations And Fans Aren't Happy About It
And none for 13 Reasons Why.
Fans of 13 Reasons Why have been left baffled after the popular Netflix show failed to receive any Emmy nominations this year in spite of being the most tweeted about show of 2017 so far.
The story of Hannah Baker, a teenager who dies by suicide and leaves behind a series of tapes documenting what led to her decision, has come under fire for its portrayal of depression, sexual assault, and suicide - with the programme retrospectively adding further warnings to viewers in the wake of the backlash.
Even more surprisingly, newcomers Katherine Langford (Hannah Baker) and Dylan Minnette (Clay Jensen) were also snubbed from the gong list, with none of the supporting cast - including parents Kate Walsh and Brian D’Arcy James - making the cut for nominations either.
This all comes as Netflix original series Stranger Things received a whopping 18 nominations at the awards ceremony, and follows reports that 13 Reasons was - in the words of fans - "robbed" all over again in the shortlist for the 2017 Teen Choice Awards.
