16 And Pregnant Star Ashley Talks Adoption Decision
16 And Pregnant star Ashley has revealed her true feelings over the decision to put her baby Callie up for adoption.
Ashley, who split with her boyfriend Justin after finding out she was expecting a baby, decided to let her aunt and uncle look after Callie following a two week trial period taking care of her child, which proved to be "too difficult" for the teenager.
Speaking in to SuChin Pak during the 16 And Pregnant After Show, Ashley claimed that she still has doubts about her decision, stating: "No matter what, there is always gonna be what ifs."
She explained that her biggest fear is that Callie may grow up to resent her for giving her away and claimed that if people judge her for putting her baby up for adoption, she hopes by watching the show they can understand why she did.
As for one of her family members adopting Callie, Ashley admitted: "I can see her whenever I like, there are no rules... But it some cases it causes conflict. I’d rather have it that way than with strangers. I wanna know what’s going on every day (with Callie)."
The school-girl also claimed that her ex-boyfriend Justin is not in the picture anymore and he hasn’t got an active part in baby Callie’s life either.
Ashley added that having a baby has changed her life priorities as well, stating: "It made me want to do something with my life and give advice to young parents who consider adoption is to trust their decision and think about what’s best for their baby."
