30 Rock Final Episode Broadcast In US
SPOILER ALERT: Hour-long episode ends popular sitcom after seven seasons...
30 Rockwas broadcast in the US last night, and it had a few twists in its tail.
After seven seasons and 10 Emmy awards, a special hour-long episode brought the show to a close - and also brought closure for many of the main characters.
Alec Baldwin's overbearing boss Jack Donaghy resigned from his new job as CEO of NBC's parent company Kabletown following a public tongue-lashing from Nancy Pelosi, the House Democratic Leader (playing herself).
She told TV viewers: "Jack Donaghy is an economic war criminal. If the Democratic Party controls Congress, I will see to it that he is punished in the worst way possible: by having to come down here and listen to us."
The show within the show, TGS, was also coming to an end - and Tina Fey's embattled writer Liz Lemon and her colleagues were nervous for their future.
There was a flash-forward showing Liz working on a downmarket sitcom a year in the future - with no sign of her new hubby Criss Chross.
And a neat twist saw newly promoted NBC boss Kenneth Parcell pitched a comedy series called 30 Rock.
Catch 30 Rock in the UK on Comedy Central - every Wednesday at 10.30pm
