50 Cent: "G-Unit Will Rule Hip Hop in 2007"
The Window Shopping one is feeling especially confident at the moment...
50 Cent has told MTV that G-Unit will be bigger and better than ever in 2007.
The outspoken hip hop star founded the rap collective with its own record label and clothing range in the early noughties, but, despite initial success, the company floundered a bit in 2006.
One of the group's former proteges, The Game, also defected from the group then publicly panned them last year.
In an interview with MTV UK News last autumn, The Game said, "G-Unit is dead as a brand. People just aren't into wearing their stuff anymore because I came out and dismantled their whole crew, record label and group."
However Fiddy has now hit back and told MTV, Do you think G-Unit is over because they seeing some artists having difficulties?
"Theres no company that has had a higher success rate than G-Unit since I showed up. Ive accomplished what took people ten years to do in business, in three. But thats cool I just accomplished what theyve accomplished and now Im going on to show you what I can do away from it."
50 now reckons with his new album 'Before I Self-Destruct' coming out soon and new G-Unit releases from Young Buck and hot newcomer Hot Rod, the brand will blow the hip hop competition out of the water this year.
He said, I want everybody to know I feel like this year is my year and theres absolutely no competition; that Im going to dominate again. And it might seem unfair to some of the hip hop community but I came to do what I got to do.
Wonder what The Game will make of Fiddy's fighting talk...
