Stars Pay Tribute To Aaliyah

Nicki Minaj, Diddy and Janelle Monae send love to the late singer…

A host of massive music stars paid tribute to Aaliyah yesterday on the ninth anniversary of her death.
The R&B innovator was killed in a plane crash after filming the Rock The Boat video back in 2001.
On Twitter yesterday loads of artists paid their respects. Diddy wrote: “Unknown fact: Aaliyah + I recorded a track in Trinidad that was never released- I wish I could find those tapes now," Diddy tweeted. "Damn. RIP AALIYAH."
Keri Hilson- who like Aaliyah is a portege of Timbaland wrote: "#ripAaliyah I feel like you were a sister I've nvr had the pleasure of meeting. No one will ever replace your shine, nor should one try.”
"Today is the day that the R&B Angel Aaliyah passed on,” Ne-Yo wrote. "RT if you loved her the way I did!!WE MISS YOU BABYGIRL!!!!”
And it seems the late star inspired a lot of other young women to get into music. Both Nicki Minaj and Janelle Monae paid tribute online.
Monae said: “(you) Always kept me & my friends in [Kansas City] out of trouble. Too busy in the mirror doing her 'swoop' bang & dance moves.:)”
