Adele Announces Glastonbury 2016 Headline Slot
We're so ready for this.
Just when we thought we couldn’t love Adele anymore than we already do, she’s only gone and announced something seriously huge in pretty laid-back fashion.
That announcement? Only that she’s headlining Glastonbury 2016 on the Saturday night. NO BIG DEAL OR ANYTHING.
Except that it is and we’re more excited than that time Ben & Jerry’s was on offer at our local corner shop.
Casually chucking her big news into conversation on stage at London's O2 Arena, Adele, who previously said she was too scared of playing to the festival’s huge crowds, reportedly said: “Who’s going to Glastonbury this year? See you there. I’ll be there. I’ll be headlining on the Saturday night this year. I’ve had to keep that secret for years!”
According to NME, she added: “I wanted to do it last year but my record wasn't ready. And to the people who say I am too boring to headline, you're more f**king boring for moaning about me headlining.”
Slay. Here’s how people have been reacting to the news on Twitter. Sadly, not everyone is quite as happy about it as us, but still:
Adele joins Muse and Coldplay at the top of this year’s Glastonbury line-up. Festival season, we’re so ready for you.
