Adele has broken Lady GaGa's digital album sales record with her sophomore LP, 21.
According to Music Week, the Someone Like You singer's chart-topping album has replaced Lady G's hit LP The Fame, as the biggest-selling digital record in the UK.
Speaking of the increase in sales of digital music in Britain, BPI CEO Geoff Taylor has stated: "British music fans enjoy the world's most competitive and innovative digital music scene, propelling all-time sales of digital singles and albums past the £1bn mark,"
He added: "The strength of British music means there is fantastic potential for further growth."
Adele's 21 also recently became the most downloaded album Amazon had ever seen on their website.
The news of the 23-year old's continuing success comes after she scored her first ever No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in America, with single Rolling In The Deep.
After eighteen weeks on the chart, the songstress climbed from second place to take poll position, knocking Katy Perry's hook-up with Kanye West, E.T., to No.2.
In other Adele news, the Chasing Pavements hitmaker was forced to pull out of hit US TV show, Dancing With This Stars, earlier this week, after stating that her famous voice was "knackered".
