Adele "Never Planned" To Be A Singer
The star claims she turned to music after fearing she'd failed her GCSEs...
Adelemay be queen of the charts, but the record-breaking singer has revealed that she never planned a career in music.
The 23-year old, who is still sitting pretty at the top of the Official UK Album Chart after fifteen weeks, has revealed that she only decided to be a singer after realising that she was going to fail her GCSEs.
In an interview with Fabulous magazine, the Someone Like You hitmaker confessed: "I never had the aim of being a professional recording artist."
"The only reason I ended up studying music at the BRIT School was because I knew I was going to fail my GCSEs, so I panicked."
Adele continued: "I knew I'd pass all the music and performance stuff, and because of that I thought I’d get work somewhere in the music industry."
She added: "Getting signed was never an ambition. And the fame thing still feels odd, you know what I mean? Reactions from fans take my breath away."
Last week, the songstress smashed Lady GaGa's digital album sales record, as her chart-topping LP, 21, became the biggest-selling digital record in the UK.
