Adele has posted a make-up free pic on Twitter and asked fans to tweet photos as part of World Water Day.

The singer told her followers: "#iLoveWater and so does #drop4drop get involved at http://www.drop4drop.org it's world water day!"

She added: "Everyone tweet a picture of yourself with water! Drinking, showering, cooking, cleaning... #iLoveWater"

The cause is special for the star as her partner Simon Konecki is chief executive of the charity Drop4Drop, who are behind the event.

Other stars including Gwyneth Paltrow, Rita Ora and Jessie J also supported the event on Twitter.

Adele is currently hard at work on the follow-up to her multi-million seller 21.

Last month it was reported that she would be working with Prince on one of the tracks, however, his management denied the claims.
