Adele's '21' Album Breaks More Records!
'21' is the first album to sell over 3 million digital copies...
Adele may have been keeping a low profile of late, but her last album is continuing to break records.
21, the singer’s sophomore album, which was released three years ago, has just become the first album to surpass 3 million digital sales, according to Rolling Stone.
While the news may come as a surprise to some, music insiders called the achievement an “inevitability”. Apparently it was the 21st best-selling album of 2013, which is no mean feat considering it was over two years old.
The record is also the only album ever to be crowned top selling album of the year two years in a row. It came in at number one in both 2011, the year of its release, and 2012.
Last January Adele said she was working on her third studio album although, 12 months on, no further details have yet been released. Since giving birth a year and a half ago, the new mum has taken her time getting back into music.
The Skyfall singer did, however, make a rare public appearance last month when she collected an MBE from the Queen for her services to music.
