Afrojack Announces Debut Album Release, 'Forget The World'
The record will also feature Wiz Khalifa and Sting...
Afrojack has announced his debut album will be called Forget The World and will be available in May.
“It's basically a message not just to my fans, but also to myself, to always remember to keep following your heart, keep following your path, and never try to let the things around you get you down,” the Dutch DJ told Rolling Stone of his choice for the album’s title.
In a world first, he will release the artwork tomorrow (14th March) via social media app Snapchat. After that he will release a clip from the album every day via the app for two weeks, leading up to his performance at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, which kicks off at the end of March.
Afrojack has also revealed that Wiz Khalifa and Sting both feature on the record.
“The first time I went to sit down with Wiz, I just felt the vibe,” he explained.
“I had 30 tracks I wanted to play him, but there were 20 club tracks and five hip-hop tracks and they were really . . . not awkward but unconventional. Not the kind of song you meet Wiz Khalifa and say, ‘Oh, I want to play this song.’”
“We were just vibing and I played him that instrumental song I did and it worked out to be really special, completely different than anything that's in the market right now,” Afrojack continued.
“The same thing with Sting - [it was about] being able to create something that hasn't been done before.”
