Grime Stars Turn Out In Force For A Special Night In Tottenham
AJ Tracey, Not3s and President T were among those performing...
Friday (June 30th 2017) saw some of the UK’s best MCs and DJs from the grime scene come out in support of a special night in Tottenham curated by GRM Daily and Rinse FM.
Coincidentally, the day also saw the announcement of the brand new kit sponsorship deal between North-London football club Tottenham Hotspur FC and Nike.
Tottenham is the birthplace of some of the Grime scene's biggest acts such as Skepta, JME, Chip, Frisco, Meridian Dan and Abra Cadabra to name a few. Not to mention hit rappers Wretch 32 and Avelino.
It’s no surprise that the North London club teamed up with rising Grime artist and Spurs fan AJ Tracey (and of course, this year's MTV UK Brand New For 2017 winner!), to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Taking place at Five Miles in Tottenham, AJ Tracey headlined the event that also saw live performances and DJ sets some of grime’s big stars such as Not3s, President T, Logan Sama, Faze Miyake, Grandmixxer and A.G.
Opening his set with new track ‘False 9’, at 00:01am AJ exclusively unveiled the brand new Tottenham Hotspur x Nike home shirt for the very first time to huge roars from the Tottenham crowd. The track also serves as the new Tottenham x Nike ‘Watch Us Rise’ campaign soundtrack. AJ amazed the crowd with an electric set performing crowd favourites including ‘Thiago Silva’ and ‘Pasta’, before ending his set shouting out Tottenham for all the love.
A big night that will be remembered as big night from Tottenham, for Tottenham.
