Rumours to whether Akon will appear on Jacko’s posthumous album This Is It have been surrounding the singer over the past few weeks as plans to release new tracks have been announced for October.

However, speaking at the Orange Rock Corps event at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Akon revealed his feeling regarding the unheard material and his plans to release it eventually - once issues concerning Jacko’s estate are cleared.

The Sexy Chick singer stated: “Well a lot of material recorded before MJ’s passing, the estate has control over a lot of that stuff, so they’ll be deciding what goes out and when it goes out and what’ll get cleared and when it’ll get cleared.”

He added: “So all we can do is hope and pray that people allow them to do their jobs to the point were they are gonna allow that music to be released to the public. And have them be able to fulfil that experience.”

Akon, who is set to headline our very own MTV Africa Music Awards in October also revealed how he feels playing the event.

He stated: “It’s just the fact that MTV has taken it to Africa man, is just huge. That’s always been a dream for all African artists to be able to do MTV of any other kind of awards show in Africa. They never get those kind of opportunities, so we’ve been looking forward to it”

The Smack That hit-maker added: “It’s the fact they chose Kenya as well which is a country we’ve been trying to get through for the last three years. We’ve just been having so many complications getting there and I’m just excited to be going.”
