The First Trailer For Disney’s Live Action Aladdin Is Finally Here And It’s Pure Gold
2019 can't come soon enough
After what feels like a century of hanging about in Genie’s lamp just waiting for something magical to happen, the team at Disney HQ have decided to release the first trailer for the upcoming live-adaption movie of Aladdin.
Unless you’ve been spending all your free time shut off from the modern world in the Cave Of Wonders, you’ll probably already know that Canadian actor Mena Massoud is set to take on the role of everyone's secret crush and favourite streetrat.
The trailer doesn’t give a lot away in terms of plot (not that anyone will go into the movie not knowing what to expect) but what it *does* give us the first glimpse of the kingdom of Agrabah alongside an instrumental medley of some of the most iconic songs from the 1992 animated film.
Naomi Scott, who is set to play Princess Jasmine in the movie, previously opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about her character: "She’s a multidimensional woman, and she doesn’t have to just be one thing. So in this movie, you see her go on such a roller coaster, as opposed to her one goal being to fall in love or get married."
Will Smith will be taking over from the late Robin Williams in the role of The Genie, with the movie being set to hit cinema screens on May 24, 2019. It will be the latest in a series of live-adaption Disney movies including Cinderella, The Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast.
We cannot wait.
