Alan Carr To Present Channel 4 Talent Show
Chatty Man host branching out with reality show called The Singer Takes It All...
Alan Carr will be leaving the Chatty Man sofa behind him for his next job presenting a new Channel 4 talent show.
The popular chat show host will be taking the helm on The Singer Takes It All - which is billed by the broadcaster as a "tongue-in-cheek" take on the genre.
Set for transmission in four episodes this August, the show will apparently see contestants performing on a moving stage - with viewers able to manipulate parts of the set as they vote from home on an app.
The viewer interaction will take the place of judges on the show - but a number of celeb guests are expected to take part.
Justin Gorman, Channel 4's head of entertainment, said the show is "about being in the moment, not about recording contracts".
"We thought, 'How can we making voting exciting again?'" he explained.
"Lots of shows have implemented a voting system since it was pioneered by Big Brother, but the exciting thing about The Singer Takes It All is it's all about a 90-second performance.
"There are real moments of drama, but it still feels like a game."
