Strokes Guitarist Goes Solo
What does this mean for the future of the New York five-piece..?
The Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr will release his first solo album Yours to Keep on October 9.
He recorded the disc in New York with bassist Josh Lattanzi, and drummer Matt Romano, and called on various musical mates to join him on vocals.
But you can put aside any worries of a Strokes rift as one of those friends is the five-piece bands brooding frontman Julian Casablancas.
The solo album is a side project for Albert - the Strokes spokesman is keen to stress he will not be leaving the band.
