MTV Meets Alex Adair, Your Feel-Good Music Maker

We talk Fearne Cotton's approval, remixing Ed Sheeran and more with the 'Make Me Feel Better' producer...

With his feel-good dance trackMake Me Feel Better justdays away from release,21-year-old British producerAlex Adair has a very excitingfuture ahead of him and he's already remixed Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, Jessie Ware and more.

...and get this - his track, having now gained support from the Radio 1 big guns, was originally created as part of his Creative Music Technology course at Uni but they declined to release it on their own label! So, Soundcloud buzz beckoned and the rest they say is history. Let's get to know the man behind the 'tropical house' sound...

Speaking exclusively to MTV UK, Alex told us it's so "surreal" hearing his song being played on the radio and singled out Fearne Cotton as one of his favourite 'champions' of the song.

"It’s obviously very nice being played on radio," he said,"but, I mean, she always has something nice to say about it and that’s the icing on the cake and that’s been very nice so that’s my favourite one I’d have to say."

Not only is Make Me Feel Better getting huge airplay, you'll have heard his remix of Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud doing the rounds which he revealed he was "very surprised" about getting that call.

"Again, it’s just crazy to think where I was about a year ago and how it’s all sort of built up it’s crazy," he said,"…and it's obviously great to be able to remix someone like Ed Sheeran - that’s a surreal thing as well."

On whether he's heardif Ed's a fan of the track he admitted,"I haven’t no, but it’s done very well and they’ve been good with posting and tweeing aboutit so I’mvery, very pleased about that."

So now the life of a fully-fledged DJ career beckons, which starts supporting Klingande on tour next month (dates below), and it's all very new to the West Sussex-based producer having not really professionally DJ'ed up until this point.

"I haven’t had any embarrassing moments yet touch wood. I haven’t had any really big gigs yet. I’ve just had sort of a practice and getting into it, a few really small ones but yeah they’re sort of creeping up on me now and yeah I’m excited about and hopefully … nothing goes wrong!"

Make Me Feel Better is out March 1.
