Alexander McQueen's Savage Beauty Comes To London
The Victoria and Albert Museum will be hosting McQueen's iconic exhibition in March 2015
Alexander McQueeen's iconic fashion exhibiton Savage Beauty will be coming to London's V & A Museum. The exhibiton, which was first shown at The Met Gallery in New York, broke attendance records when over 5000 people came to see it on its opening day in 2011.
The collection is a retrospective of the designer's work, spanning from 1992 MA graduate show to his unfinished A/W collection of 2010. The designer's death in 2010 left the fashion world astounded, and this exhibiton will undoubtedly be as popular as the last one. Martin Roth, the director of the V and A has said "It does feel like we are bringing his work home. I am thrilled". McQueen's work was often as controversial as it was respected, and this show will likely draw in an audience not solely interested in fashion, his work for David Bowie and Bjork making him somewhat of a cult fashion icon amongst musicians.
Savage Beauty will run from the 14th March to 19th July. Tickets are on sale at £16 for General Admission.
