Burke crowned winner, defeating Eoghan Quigg and JLS...
Alexandra Burke is the outstanding queen of The X Factor after beating boy band JLS in the final of the TV competition yesterday evening (Saturday).
The 20-year-old North Londoner was left speechless and in tears after being announced as the winner of The X Factor 2008, scooping a one million pound recording contract and getting an immediate release of her version of Leonard Cohens "Hallelujah".
Reports claim that eight million viewers voted on the show, with Alexandra coming out on top defeating first Eoghan Quigg and then JLS.
Alexandra was in tears and unable to speak when her victory was first announced, after composing herself the talented singer, said:
"Thank-you for making my dreams come true, everyone,"
In encouraging words to X Factor hopefuls, Alexandra, who made the last 21 of X Factor three years ago explained:
"I went for this show three years ago and I got told to go home because I wasn't ready.
"I took three years to get myself ready, I came back and look what's happened."
Alexandras performances yesterday had the crowd and judges amazed, with one of the highlights - her performance of Listen with superstar Beyonce Knowles, who also heaped praised on the girl from North London.
The X Factors tough judge, Simon Cowell had nothing but compliments for the unbelievable winner:
"I'm rarely speechless but I am now. Alex, God bless you. You deserved it.
"No-one can deny what this girl achieved tonight. There would have been a riot if she hadn't won. I've got a really good feeling this is going to be one of the biggest-selling 'X Factor' singles. I've got a good feeling about her."
