Alicia Keys Promises Her Most 'Intentional, Purposeful' New Music Yet At Apple Music Festival

We headed down to Night 3 at London's famous Roundhouse to catch the star in action...

Alicia Keys has announced we can expect to hear new music real soon. During her set at the Apple Music Festival in London, the singer paused from her performance to say her new music is the most intentional, purposeful music she’s ever written.

The ‘Fallin’ singer went on to say “It’s all about New York, I just wanna bring you into my world a litle bit. The people, the sounds. Brookyln, Queens, The Bronx, Harlem, I wanna give you a little taste”.

It’s been four years since her last album, and fans cheered in anticipation of what's to come.

Fresh face Jordan Fisher was her supporting act and he didn’t dissapoint. The crowd were spurred on by his energetic performance that featured him moving his hips A LOT!

His vocals were a mix of Miguel, Robin Thicke and John Legend. Playing songs from his first EP we’re excited to hear more from this up and coming singer. The 22-year-old provides R&B vibes that have all but disappeared. It was his first time in London, and we hope it’s not his last!

During Keys' 50 minute set, the 35-year old blew the crowd away with her close and intimate performance. So intimately acquaintant, the singer who also performed at the iTunes Fest in 2012 joked "Camden Roundhouse might need to step up its air con."

‘Girl On Fire’, ‘New York’, ‘You Don’t Know My Name’ and ‘If I Ain’t Got You' weresome of the tracks she serenaded the crowd with, takingto the keys for most of the set but stepped away from the piano to perfom ‘Un-Thinkable’.

Fans were in for a surprise though as Sampha joined in with her track 'Try Sleeping WithA Broken Heart'. The pair then went on to perform his new song ‘Blood On Me’. If you don’t know him, you better get to know!

Apple Music continues throughout September, with Britney Spears, Calvin Harris, OneRepublic, Bastille, Robbie Williams, Michael Buble and Chance The Rapper still to perform.
