Amanda Bynes 'Could Be In Psychiatric Care Until 2015'
Lawyer requests 18-month delay on bong-throwing court case...
Amanda Bynes could be kept in psychiatric care until 2015, her lawyer has revealed.
The troubled star is reportedly being treated for the serious mental illness schizophrenia and her mother has been granted a temporary conservatorship over her medical and financial affairs.
Now US gossip site TMZ reports that the former child star's lawyer Gerald Shargel has asked a New York City court to postpone a case in which she is alleged to have thrown a bong from an apartment window for up to 18 months.
And the site also claims to have heard from "sources" that the case will probably be plea-bargained - so never coming to trial.
Her mother Lynn is apparently not seeking a longer-term conservatorship, because she has been advised that existing medical regulations allow for sufficient control over her daughter's treatment.
TMZ also reports that there has been "no real improvement" in the 27-year-old's condition.
