Troubled star issues statement via lawyer concerning her illness...
Amanda Bynes has corrected media reports that she is suffering from the mental illness schizophrenia.
The former child star, 28, issued a statement to gossip mag People via her lawyer Tamar Arminak.
"There has been much speculation about Amanda’s medical condition," Arminak said.
"She asked me to dispel certain rumours. For the record, Amanda does not have schizophrenia, nor has she ever been diagnosed with it."
And he went on to state that Bynes is currently medication-free and doing well.
"Amanda currently is on zero medication. She's devoted to living her life as healthy as possible.
"She's never had a history of abusing alcohol or hard drugs, and she's proud to say she's been marijuana-free for the past nine months."
Bynes is still currently under her mother Lynn's care - with an order lasting until September.
"Her family is closely involved with her day-to-day life but they try to give her as much autonomy as possible," Arminak went on.
"She's doing extremely well. Her primary focus is bonding with her family and being a student."
