Amelia Lily: "Kelly Rowland Has Always Got My Back"

EXCLUSIVE | MTV.co.uk chat to the singer about life after The X Factor...

Amelia Lilymay not have won last year's series of Girls AloudproducersKelly Rowland would feature on her first album, she's going it alone this time around.

The singer revealed: "Me and Kelly actually recorded something at Christmas time after The X Factor. It was just to try something but it’s not gonna be on my album. Hopefully people will get to hear it in the future.

"I’m still in contact with Kelly. She will text me and call me when she can, obviously the time difference is difficult but she has always got my back."
Lily went on to reveal that she can understand why the former Destiny's Child star did not want to retake her seat on this year's panel, stating: "I think it’s entirely up to Kelly if she wanted to come back or not.
"I thought she was great on The X Factor but I suppose maybe she felt like she didn’t want to do it this year as she’s already done it and wants to go onto something new now."

Amelia continued: "I think Nicole Scherzinger will be brilliant, I think she’s going to bring something new to the show.
"She’s already had experience from doing it before, so I think she kind of knows what she’s doing and I think it’s nice to change the panel up as it keeps it more fun and exciting. It will be interesting to see what the show is like this year."
Addressing her debut LP further, Amelia revealed that as well as Kelly, there are many artists out there who she would love to hit the studio with.
The star told us: "On this album there are no collaborations, as it's my first album. I kind of wanted to introduce myself for now and get people to know what kind of artist I am and what type of person I am.

"Hopefully in the future, I will get to do some collaborations with the likes of Katy Perry, Pink, David Guetta, Kings Of Leon - it’s like a never ending list."
She went on: "I'd like to work with them because they have had such big careers and so much success and they still seem like down to earth people who you could maybe sit down and have a conversation with.
"They are also inspiring to me and I've kind of grew up listening to them, so I could guess you can say that’s why I'd like to collaborate with them."
Amelia Lily's debut single You Bring Me Joy is released on 26th August.
