Amelia Lily 'Threw Up When Debut Single Was Released'
EXCLUSIVE! X Factor star also tells us all about her new LP, Be A Fighter...
Amelia Lily has revealed that she was physically sick when her debut single You Bring Me Joy was released in August 2012.
Speaking of the 'crazy' moment, The X Factor star told MTV News UK: "It struck midnight and You Bring Me Joy had just been released on iTunes and I was just watching it climb the charts and I threw up.
"There was so much adrenaline and so much going on, I was so excited… I just threw up! I was like 'I'm going to be sick', and everyone was like 'no no it's alright', and then I threw up."
Despite Amelia's nerves concerning her first single, the 18-year old is gearing up to the release of her debut album Be A Fighter on May 20, with Lily explaining she selected such a powerful title as she wants to "inspire" her fans.
The Party Over singer said: "I actually chose the album title is because I wanted to inspire people to chase their dreams and you do have to fight for your dreams, and you know, I had to fight for mine.
"You can't just sit back in a chair and wait for it to come to you, you have to go out there and go for it, but my album is really diverse, and I'm really excited for people to hear it."
She continued: "The album has got a country side to it, and a little bit more heartfelt as well, and there's a song on the album - which is one of my favourites - and it's called The Hills… It's probably the most personal to me, so it's quite a versatile album."
Speaking of who she looks to for inspiration, the pink-haired popstress claimed: "I haven't really had any influences for this album, but I do have obviously idols in the music industry, Katy Perry, Pink, Rihanna…
"For the first album, you need to just be you and introduce yourself to the public as who you are and what you've come up with in the studio. That's probably why I'm really proud of it."
Amelia Lily: MTV Live airs on MTV Music this Saturday (April 27) at 12 noon.
