Sugababes singer Amelle Berrabahhas been arrested on drink driving charges after being pulled over in Camden.

The singer was driving her £300,000 Mercedes when she was pulled over by police officers at 5.30am on Thursday morning. Reports state she had jumped in her car after an argument with her boyfriend, Tom Benn, to which police were called.

The News of the World reports that six police officers were called to the couple’s north London flat after their row woke neighbours – two spoke to Tom in a bedroom while the others questioned Amelle outside the flat. But just after they left the scene, another 999 call was made when Amelle arrived back at the flat.

The newspaper quoted a neighbour of the pair: "It was mayhem. They must have woken the whole apartment block with the noise. It was very distressing because there were all sorts of noises coming out of their apartment. We thought someone had been seriously hurt.

"Amelle was beating the door, going absolutely mental. You could hear her screaming and Tom saying, 'For f**** sake, calm down'.”

A spokesperson for Scotland Yard confirmed the singer had been arrested and would facethe charges early next month: “Amelle Berrabah, 26, will appear on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on October 8 charged with driving with excess alcohol.”
