We Experienced ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ IRL & It Was Terrifying
We went to the real life Hotel Cortez and it was eventful...
With the blu-ray release of American Horror Story: Hotel finally arriving, we were lucky enough to get to experience what it would really be like to stay at the Hotel Cortez…
The exclusive murder mystery event took place at The Beaumont Hotel in London and upon arrival you could instantly see why they chose this as the venue to imitate the Hotel Cortez. The decor was on point, fit with old school furniture that was totally in line with the series.
Upon arrival we were ushered into a room for some drinks while Iris (or should we say, the actor playing her) and Mr March himself (again, a very convincing actor despite despertaely hoping Evan Peters would show up). With these two bickering around us it really felt like we were extras in an episode of AHS: Hotel.
After a little bif of time in the waiting room, the moment finally arrived where we were cordially invited to an exclusive event - even the faux room keys were convincing, fit with our cause of death...

When the event officially began we were transported back to the 1920s, and the wedding anniversary party of Mr March and The Countess. Of course it wouldn’t be a murder mystery without a murder, so we were there to help solve the case of who killed Mr March?
Naturally those of us that had poured over every episode of the series were ready to reveal the answer, however, the actors gave the story a little twist and we had to choose, based on the night’s events, who we thought did it.

As we were mingling at the ‘party’, characters such as Hypodermic Sally and Liz Taylor kept coming up and whispering clues to us, or slipping us bits of paper that would inevitably lead us the the murderer.
As the night went on we were given more and more clues as the actors played out key scenes leading up to the 'murder'. Of course we nailed it and guessed the right answer, Liz Taylor FYI, with our proze being a screening of the first episode of AHS: Hotel.
It was as close to appearing in an actual episode of American Horror Story as we're ever likely to get and that was terrifying enough...
