American Idol Classic Rock Week Rocked By Injuries
SPOILER ALERT: Seven remaining hopefuls battle on...
American Idolhave been getting their rocks off as the show enters "classic rock week".
The hopefuls were given a strict "no ballads" instruction - as producers on the hit reality show made a bid to keep things uptempo.
And the two contestants who made the biggest impression of the evening were both performing in spite of painful injuries.
The hotly tipped Kree Harrison gave a stirring rendition of Janis Joplin's Piece Of My Heart, prompting Randy Jackson to tell her: "I feel like the show finally started tonight.
"That's how you come out and rock the stage. I love seeing this bluesy side of you. This girl can sing. She's in it to win it!"
But Keith Urban realised something was up and got her to admit she was suffering from a pinched nerve, leaving her in serious pain.
And Nicki Minaj said: "Girl, you could have had a pinched nerve, got on my nerve, got on several nerves. That was magnificent Miss Lady.
"You're stunning. It's so natural. I think your voice was unmatched, I'm just obsessed with you."
The other standout performance of the night came from Candice Glover - performing the Rolling Stones' (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction with a broken toe sustained during an April Fool prank which backfired.
Mariah Carey told her: "Every single performance brings a different part of you to the stage. It's mesmerizing to watch you."
The results show will be aired this evening in the US and tomorrow (Friday) in the UK, on 5*.
Devin Velez got the boot last week.
