Keith Urban is the first member of theAmerican Idol judging panel to be confirmed as returning for the next series.
The country music star's return was heralded by Fox president of entertainmentJennifer Lopezis claimed to be on the verge of signing up to re-join the panel too.
J-Lo was on the show in 2011 and 2012, but quit along with Steven Tyler and was replaced by Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj in this year's series.
Will.I.Am is the latest star linked to a job on the panel.
