Phillip Phillips Out Of Hospital After Surgery
The American Idol winner says he's now back at work...
The 21-year-old singer went under the knife last week to remove kidney stones that were too large to pass and on Monday (11th June) he told E! News that he was on the mend.
Speaking to the website, Phillips stated: "I'm out of the hospital and back to work. Looking forward to the future."
They also posted a photo of him grimacing as he signed autographs just days after undergoing a nearly seven-hour procedure.
According to TMZ, the surgery was much more intense than doctors expected. The site reported that when surgeons went in to remove the temporary stent implanted in Phil's right kidney months earlier they found that it had been in place so long it had become embedded.
The device had to be cut out with a laser, but doctors said the surgery was successful and Phillips is now reportedly recovering in a Malibu mansion loaned to him by one of the Idol bosses.
Our US Team adds that a spokesperson for Phillips could not be reached for further comment at press time.
Phillips is now slated to join the rest of the top ten when the 45-show Idol summer tour kicks off in Detroit on 6th July.
