Will Young 'Happy' Over American Idol Exit Song

Will Young has revealed his excitement that his hit song American Idolexit song.

The track, which proved to be one of Young's most successful songs to date, hitting the top spot back in 2003 is being played as Idol contestants are voted off the show.

The original Gareth Gatesto the Idol crown in 2002 also claimed that he thinks the song is the perfect choice for the show.

Young stated: "Funny enough, the song is more about taking yourself out of a situation, so in a way, I'm telling myself to leave, which is almost the harder thing to do."

He added: "I think that's what it is about, that song. So many people have experienced that. You're coming back, and you think, 'I really shouldn't be in the situation, but here I am again'. That's what that song is about. And that's why I always love performing it."

Will, who recently released his Greatest Hits LP is set to unlveil his first album in the US next month.
