5 Seconds Of Summer and Sam Smith have been confirmed to perform at the American Music Awards next month.

Mary J. Blige will also take to the stage at the ceremony, which takes place at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre on November 23.

Host Pitbull and Charli XCX are also due to perform at the event.

5SOS are nominated in the New Artist of the Year category, where they will go head-to-head with Smith and the likes of Meghan Trainor and Iggy Azalea.
