Amy Schumer Continues To Wage War On Trolls
Enough of this already.
In case you didn’t know by now, Amy Schumer doesn’t take any s**t. Whether it’s shutting down sexist double standards, or opening up the debate on industry standards after being labelled ‘plus sized’ without her consent, if you do something she doesn’t like, you better believe you’ll be hearing about it. This is why we love Amy.
Yesterday she did it again, brilliantly silencing body-shaming trolls on Instagram after she received a slew of negative comments (who are these people and why do they still exist!?) on a photo of her in a bikini with the original tongue-in-cheek caption, “BFG" (big friendly giant)”.
Following the body-shaming comments Amy changed the caption to, “I meant to write "good morning trolls!" I hope you find some joy in your lives today in a human interaction and not just in writing unkind things to a stranger you've never met who triggers something in you that makes you feel powerless and alone. This is how I look. I feel happy. I think I look strong and healthy and also like miss trunchbull from Matilda. Kisses!” After the change she immediately received a torrent of loving fans sticking up for her in the comments and balance in the world was restored.
We’re pretty baffled as to why people feel the need to do this time and time again, but at least if trolls have to live in fear of facing Amy’s wrath then maybe they’ll think twice next time before body-shaming. Also, that Matilda reference. Yes Amy!
