The former husband ofAmy Winehouse is to work as a drugs counsellor as part of a day-release scheme as he serves a 32-month sentence for a burglary he committed when he was addicted to heroin.
Blake Fielder-Civil, 29, is reported by The Sun newspaper to be starting a new unpaid role giving advice to addicts at a rehab centre this week.
A friend of his family told the paper: "Blake is squeaky-clean now and even off heroin substitute methadone. He's a reformed character.
"He will make an ideal counsellor due to his experiences. He was asked if he wanted a job and jumped at the chance."
He has previously been accused by Mitch Winehouse of getting his daughter into taking hard drugs such as crack and heroin, and Blake and Amy divorced two years before her death last summer from alcohol poisoning.
