Love Split Amy Off To Rehab?

Amy Winehouse's dad has admitted his daughter should get help in rehab.

The singer, who's never made any secret of the fact she likes a vino or eight, cancelled two London gigs back to back last week (one of which Elton John was due to attend) to go on a boozy bender after splitting with her boyfriend, Alex Jones-Donelly.

And now her dad has spoken out. Im not ruling out rehab," he told the Sunday Mirror. "Amy needs a break. They dont send you to rehab just because youve broken up with someone. There are other things. Amy needs a rest. Her workload is absolutely manic."

He added, "Shes an emotional girl. Her schedule has caused problems with Alex. He wants to see her. I dont know if thats the reason for the break-up - but wouldnt you want to see your boyfriend now and again?

Just last month Amy admitted Alex's mum had pulled her up on her boozing.

"My boyfriend's mother keeps telling him I have a drink problem," she said. "It's embarrassing. People at work are saying to her that her 'daughter-in-law' is an alcoholic.

"I don't really have a problem with alcohol - I have a problem with me, which probably comes out when I drink."

Let's hope she lays off the Chardonnay at least till she's played her rescheduled Shepherds Bush gigs. Last Thursday's (March 8) will now take place on Monday May 28, with last Friday's gig now taking place on Tuesday, May 29.
