Angel Haze On Miley Cyrus VMA Backlash: ‘Get Over It!’

EXCLUSIVE! The rapper opens up to us at Bestival about her Twitter rant...

Angel Haze has spoken exclusively to Becca Dudley backstage after her stomping performance at Bestival on Sunday night, Haze told us:

“I think people don’t have any lives of their own to worry about, like if you have to worry about a 20-year-old girl doing what she wants to do it seriously says something about you.”

She added: “If you don’t get paid for it, it shouldn’t concern you. There’s a thing to have an opinion while it’s going on but it’s been drawn out and ostracised for two weeks now like, get over it, it doesn’t really matter.

“But yeah my only particular anger comes from the whole Washington Post thing and it’s just stupid.”
On Friday, Haze posted a series of tweets in response to a Washington Post article, which linked the performance to a case in America in which a high school student was raped.
Richard Cohen, writing for the Post wrote: "Acts such as [Cyrus's] not only objectify women but debase them. They encourage a teenage culture that has set the women's movement back on its heels. What is being celebrated is not sexuality but sexual exploitation, a mean casualness that deprives intimacy of all intimacy."
