Angelina Jolie Gets A (Cinema) Audience With The Pope
Hollywood star meets Catholic leader for screening of Unbroken...
Angelina Jolie is used to rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous, but the A-lister found herself in particularly exalted company yesterday when she met Pope Francis.
The 39-year-old Hollywood star was invited by the leader of the Catholic church to travel to Rome and host a special screening of her latest movie Unbroken.
She said: "Being invited with my film to the Vatican is an honour and a great tribute to the story that I have told in Unbroken.
"The story of the hero Louis a great example of strength and forgiveness."
And a spokesperson for Universal explained: "Pope Francis, aware of the incredible life story of Louis Zamperini, graciously welcomed the opportunity to view the film and is expected to attend the screening at the Casina Pio IV, headquarters of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences."
There was no comment on whether they went for salted popcorn or sweet.
