Now that Marvel Studios has finally got around to making a female-led movie, it is reportedly pulling out all the stops to make a success of Captain Marvel.

The studio is apparently determined to land a female director for the movie - and OK! Magazine reckons that it has got none other than Angelina Jolie in its sights.

"Having a female director is a priority for them," a source told the mag.

And Ange, 39, is claimed to be flattered and mulling it over.

"She never thought she'd be in such huge demand as a director, and then be courted by Marvel after the Sony fiasco is a huge pat on the back," the mole continued.

In case you missed it, Jolie was slated by Sony execs in emails leaked after the studio's IT system was hacked.

And if the Unbroken director needs any persuasion to take the high-profile gig - Marvel apparently has 20 million dollar-shaped reasons why she should do it.

The movie is scheduled to hit cinemas in summer 2018.
