Animal Crossing Mobile Is Delayed And Our Hearts Are Broken
But there's a big change coming to Animal Crossing: New Leaf!
If you were hoping to play Animal Crossing mobile this year, we’ve some bad news; Nintendo has confirmed that it’s pushed back the mobile phone version - yes, a mobile version even more portable than your 3DS - until next year. Boo!
Animal Crossing mobile - a pick-up-and-go version of the classic Nintendo game that had us addicted to tending our crops, catching shiny bugs, and showcasing our awesome interior design skills - was supposed to be out in April, but Nintendo has now confirmed it won’t hit our phones until sometime between April 2017 and March 2018.
The game is expected to be free-to-start, which means it’s free to download and play, initially, but you may need to pay to unlock some functionality later on.
It’s not all bad, though. If, like me, you’ve been, er, a little neglectful of your Animal Crossing: New Leaf village lately, Ninty is pushing out a big update to the 3DS classic, which includes an all-new campsite area in the town *and* amiibo functionality for the first time!
Not only can you utilise the super cute (and occasionally super creepy) Animal Crossing cast, you can also link up your favourite Splatoon and Zelda characters, too.
Don’t worry if your town is a little overgrown with weeds… apparently they’ll magically disappear once you’ve downloaded the new update!
