Anne Hathaway 'To Play Eliza Doolittle In My Fair Lady'
Les Miserables star reported to be first choice for musical 'reboot'...
Anne Hathaway is likely to follow her Oscars success for Les Miserables with the lead role in My Fair Lady, it has been reported.
The Hollywood star is claimed to be the first choice for the role of Eliza Doolittle - famously played by Audrey Hepburn - in a new big-screen version masterminded by West End producer Cameron Mackintosh.
A source told The Sun: "Cameron feels having Anne on board will help replicate the success of Les Mis.
"The cockney accent won't be a problem. She'll pick it up in no time."
Anne, 30, had previously been linked to the Broadway version of the musical - based on George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion - but is now thought more likely to appear in the movie instead.
