Ant & Dec 'Could Be Banned From NTAs'
Ant & Dec could be sidelined from the National Television Awards under a plan that is reportedly being hatched by ceremony producers Indigo Television.
The Geordie duo have won the "Entertainment Presenter" category in the public-voted awards for the last 11 years in a row, and The Sun newspaper claims the organisers now want to give somebody else a chance.
The paper claims that the plan is to name the award in honour of Ant & Dec as they step aside.
A source said: "Ant & Dec have taken more awards than any other show or star in the ceremony's 17-year history.
"So now there's talk they will step out of the competition to give others a chance and organisers will rebrand the category 'The Ant & Dec Entertainment Presenter Award'.
"It will be news to them and the idea will depend on whether they want to go along with it. They might just say 'No', in which case the organisers can't not let them enter."
There has been no public comment from Ant & Dec themselves.
