Just one day after announcing that shooting has commenced on Marvel's Ant-Man, the studio has released the first production photo. And if it's any indication, this may be Marvel's grittiest film yet.

[related]The image shows Paul Rudd as con-man Scott Lang, with a hoodie pulled over his head and stitchesover his right eye. He appears against the backdrop of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, alongside a run-down van.

In the movie, Lang builds a relationship with an inventor named Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), who possesses a suit that can shrink a man to insect size while giving him immense strength. The pair must team together to protect Pym's invention against a looming threat.

The character Ant-Man is one of the original Avengers, appearing as far back as 1962.

Rudd and Douglas are joined in the film by Loststar Evangeline Lilly, as well asnew additions T.I. and John Slattery.
