Arctic Monkeys Cancel Their Birmingham Arena Gig

The band is forced to cancel tonight's show due to illness…

Arctic Monkeys have announced the cancellation of their gig tonight in Birmingham.
The band took to Twitter less than an hour ago (October 31) to advise they had been forced to pull out of the performance due to illness.
They wrote: "We regret to advise that due to illness Arctic Monkeys are unable to perform at the Birmingham LG Arena tonight (Thursday 31st October 2013)"

The group were on hand to perform at last night's Barclaycard Mercury Prize ceremony, where they were nominated for the prestigious award.
They [uuid=66bdad5a-ffda-4150-8dbc-b31ffd68e011]lost out to singer-songwriter James Blake[/uuid], who won for his album Overgrown.
Arctic Monkeys are currently midway through their nine-date UK arena tour, but frontman Alex Turner[uuid=962f02f5-09f9-4534-923a-40543745079a] recently confirmed to MTV News UK[/uuid] that the boys plan to play more gigs next year.
