Arctics Go Home!
The Monkey boys play special Sheffield gig
Arctic Monkeys returned to their native Sheffield over the weekend for a triumphant gig at The Leadmill.
The world-smashing band, who release their second album Favourite Worst Nightmare today, took to the stage both Saturday and Sunday night for the two homecoming gigs in celebration of their new release.
Both explosive gigs saw the Arctics mix tracks from their new offering, including the single Brianstorm, with classics including I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor, When The Sun Goes Down and From Ritz to Rubble.
Singer Alex Turner reportedly didnt say very much throughout the gigs, apart from the odd cheers in between songs. Perhaps hes jealous that his bandmate Jamies got a Page 3 girlfriend!
Following last nights gig, the nearby branch of Fopp opened at midnight so fans could go and immediately buy a copy of Favourite Worst Nightmare.
