Arctics to play with Amy Winehouse

The Arctics announce support from Amy Winehouse and more for their big summer gig

The Arctic Monkeys have announced that they'll be joined by Amy Winehouse, Supergrass and The Coral for their Lancashire Cricket Ground gigs this summer.

The band told NME.com: "When we decided to do our own event, we wanted to make it a really fun day out for the fans. Supergrass, The Coral and Amy Winehouse are all amazing live acts and three of our favourite Artists."

And though all the tickets for the July gigs have sold out already, you just know the DVD will be hitting the shelves at the local HMV by Christmas

In other Monkey news, the first single from their new album, Brianstorm, which is due for release on April 16th, won't be eligible for the charts, according to The Star.

Since the prolific Monkeys have put four songs on the disk, it no longer qualifies as a single. They ran into a similar problem with last years EP 'Who the **** are the Arctic Monkeys' which had too few songs on it to be eligible for the album charts. Some monkeys never learn

The album 'Favourite Worst Nightmares' is due for release on April 23rd.
