Monkeys' South By Southwest Triumph

Arctic Monkeys have triumphed at Americas South By Southwest music festival, despite some critics trying to knock them down.

Their much-anticipated show at the Texas festival was packed out with industry bigwigs and fans who sang along to their hits.

MTV.com reports that they 'lived up to the hype... with a professionalism and poise that belied their young years'.

Some critics whined that drummer Matt Helder sang 'laughably out of tune' and that the band had 'a long way to go'. Perhaps the weirdest review described Alex Turner as having 'the good looks of a young Tom Cruise'.

But the Monkeys proved any critics wrong with their blinding 45-minute set.
