Ariana Grande and Victoria Monet Dropped Their Empowering New Single ‘MONOPOLY’ And Performed It Live

We've been listening to this song, where you been?

It’s here, people. After the pair teased fans with the concept last week, the collab to end all collabs has officially arrived.

Ariana Grande and Victoria Monet have officially released their collaborative single to the world, and we are undeniably obsessed with it (and the accompanying music video) already. Announcing the single as ‘a thank u to them fans,’ the recent GRAMMY award-winning singer and her ‘chico’ Victoria Monet gave us the girl-power anthem that we’ve so desperately been waiting for.

Watch the music video for Ariana Grande and Victoria Monet’s ‘MONOPOLY’ below:

In the song, the girls talk about swerving ‘bad vibes’, collecting their ‘goals’ like it’s ‘Monopoly’, and ‘making them investments for the win’. Yuh. These girls can hold their own, and this is a call for all women listening to do so too. It’s empowering, inspiring, and makes working your ass of and earning your own look good. Which it damn well is.

The singer, who was accused of teasing the song as an ‘April Fools’ before it dropped, responded to the rumour by explaining: “why the whole f*ck would this be an April fools joke there’s so much to celebrate and to say thank u for ! seriously ! we mean it. you’re getting a song today. period. love u.”

But the song wasn’t all fans received, the singers also made an iconic music video full of memes, emojis, and a lot of twerking. It sees the artists push away lots of negative vibes (including Trump), dance around without a care in the world, and celebrate their discography (yes, we’re talking those #1 singles ‘thank u, next’ and ‘7 rings’).

But the song had fans talking for another reason too. There’s a lyric that sees both singers say ‘I like women and men’, which alludes to the idea that they’re bisexual. Monet already announced that she was on Twitter last year, but Grande has yet to comment on her sexuality.

She did, however, take to Twitter to say: “i haven’t before and still don’t feel the need to now. which is okay”

Which, of course, is totally fine! There’s never a need to label yourself or make up your mind of what you dig. Just do you like Ariana boo! You don’t owe anyone an explanation for your own sexuality.

Oh, yeah, and the girls performed the song live together. Somebody hold us because these girls have given us so much in one day.

We’re obsessed with the song and can’t to see it rise to huge success. Here’s to women supporting and uplifting women (and of course to ‘them fans’)!
