Ariana Grande References Pete Davidson And Mac Miller In Single ‘Thank U, Next’

The lyrics speak for themselves

Ariana Grande has made reference to her recent split with Pete Davidson in new song ‘Thank U, Next’ which dropped half an hour before the comedian made an appearanceon Saturday Night Live.

While there’s been a fair bit of shade thrown about on social-media recently, the lyrics to the track are about how grateful she is to every one of her ex-boyfriends -including the late Mac Miller - for teaching her a valuable lesson.

The opening verse begins: “Thought I'd end up with Sean / But he wasn't a match / Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh / Even almost got married / And for Pete, I'm so thankful / Wish I could say 'thank you' to Malcolm / 'Cause he was an angel."

"One taught me love / One taught me patience / And one taught me pain / Now I'm so amazing / I've loved and I've lost / But that's not what I see / So look what I got / Look what you taught me," she continues on the track. "Thank you, next / Thank you, next / Thank you, next / I'm so f—in' grateful for my ex."

This comes as Pete addressed their break-up again on the show, saying: "I know some of you are curious about the breakup.

"But the truth is, it's nobody's business and sometimes things just don't work out. And that's okay. She's a wonderful, strong person and I genuinely wish her all the happiness in the world."

Here's hoping they continue to keep it amicable.
