Ariana Grande Touches Down in Tokyo For NYE
The Nickelodeon cutie looked "kawaii" at the airport...
Ariana Grande looked adorable as she touched down in Tokyo today to meet hundreds of waiting fans.
The Last Christmas singer – who wore a fluffy white jumper, tiny black skirt and matching cream bag – was the embodiment of ‘kawaii’, which is Japanese for ‘cute’!
“Oooomg I love my Japanese fans so much,” Ariana tweeted after her arrival. “Thank you for the overwhelmingly warm welcome at the airport. You are the most adorable humans ever.”
She also Instagrammed a pic of all the gifts she was given by her Japanese fans, which included mountains of plush toys.
It was certainly a calmer welcome than the one she received earlier this year in Amsterdam. Arriving in the city for MTV’s EMAs, Ariana was mobbed by fans and had to be rescued by the police.
“I never want to be the person who avoids my own fans, so I always try to stop and say hi," she told Cosmopolitan of the experience.
“But it turned into a big mosh of people, and it became quite dangerous. I got sent to the police station, and they told me not to come back to that airport!”
Ariana will be celebrating New Year’s Eve in the Japanese capital and earlier today she tweeted her excitement: “It's 6pm in Japan but it's the 31st so tonight we're celebrating New Years I'm so confused but I love it so much. あけおめ happy new year :).”
