Mac Miller Erases His Entire Instagram And Drops New Music Full Of Ariana Grande References
"I know I probably need to do better, f*ck whoever, keep my sh*t together."
Yep, in a dramatic turn of events, the musician wiped his entire Instagram clean and replaced the old posts with three fresh tunes that are definitely, maybe about Ari.
Hit play on MTV News for Cardi B's realisation that Childish Gambino and Donald Glover are, in fact, the same person...
This comes just a few weeks after the pair announced their split, and Mac was arrested for a DUI after allegedly crashing his car and fleeing the scene.
It's fair to say that Ari was probs a pretty heavy influence on Mac's new songs, 'Small Worlds', 'Buttons', and 'Programs', which happen to be the first solo tracks he's released in nearly three years.
The pair cited their "schedules," as one of the main reasons behind the split, and 'Buttons' contains the lyric: "Days get mixed up, schedules get switched up, can't be in two places at once."
Coincidence? We think not.
Over on 'Small Worlds', Mac states: "I know I probably need to do better, f*ck whoever, keep my sh*t together," which seems to echo Ariana's Twitter statement: "Shaming/blaming women for a man’s inability to keep his s*** together is a very major problem."
Mac's tune then appears to address issues Ariana eluded to in the same Twitter statement when she wrote: "I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years."
"Yeah, nine times out of ten I get it wrong. That's why I wrote this song, told myself to hold on. I can feel my fingers slippin', in a motherf*ckin' instant I'll be gone," are Mac's lyrics.
Their breakup hit more than a few headlines, which 'Programs' seems to touch on: "Please do not fuck up my day. Everybody want a headline. I don't got nothin' to say."
"Yeah, I'm only keepin' good company. I am not talkin' to you if you don't have love for me (yeah) Yeah, one for you and one for me (yeah, yeah) I am not talkin' to you if you don't have love for me."
Unsurprisingly fans have had a lot to say about Mac's new music, with some thanking Ari as his creative inspo despite the heartbreaking circumstances, and others just downright grateful he's back.
"THANKS @ArianaGrande NOW @MacMiller ACTUALLY DROPPING FIRE," wrote one person.
We're 100% here for the return of the Mac.
