Amy Adams Meets An ALIEN In New 'Arrival' Trailer

The first trailer has dropped online for Arrival, the spectacular new alien invasion thriller in which a fleet of super-sized alien craft suddenly pitch up on Earth. Well, we say ‘invasion’, but it’s not entirely clear what these aliens are after - that’s why Amy Adams’ translator is the star of the show, as she tries to figure out whether our extra-terrestrial visitors are friend or foe.

She’s backed up by Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker as gruff military types, all of whom seem only too happy to head into the bowels of the alien craft in an attempt to find out what’s going on. Rather them than us, TBH…

Looks a bit less explodey than Independence Day, doesn’t it? Even so, there’s plenty of visual loveliness to feast on here, as more of those ominous alien ships start landing all across the globe. ‘Friendly’ invasion or otherwise, this alien squad does seem to have brought some numbers…

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Arrival will open in the UK on November 11 2016.
